Meet our Veterinarians
Lloyd H. Kloppe, DVM,
ACT
Dr. Kloppe is a respected equine
reproduction specialist. He has spoken both regionally and
nationally on equine reproduction. He is the owner of Durango
Equine which has been in operation since 1988. Dr .
Kloppe has over 20 years of experience in private practice. He
received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1980 at
University of Missouri. He then worked at a private mixed practice
from 1980-1984. He next did a theriogenology (veterinary
reproduction) residency at Texas A&M from 1984-87. After his
residency, he was a resident veterinarian at a Standardbred farm in
NY. He founded Durango Equine in 1988. Dr. Kloppe
is the current owner of DEVC who specializes in equine
reproduction. He is a Diplomate of the American College of
Theriogenologists.

In his spare time Dr. Kloppe is an
avid baseball fan, along with his wife Jana and son Bryan. They also
enjoy skiing together at Whistler every year.

Traci Hill Hulse,
DVM
Dr. Hulse attended the University of
Delaware for her undergraduate degree in Animal Science.
She graduated in 1991 cum laude with Bachelor of Science
degree. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in
1995 from Purdue University. Dr. Hulse joined Durango
Equine in 1995 and has been working as an Equine Exclusive
Practitioner since then..

Dr. Hulse is married to Jack Hulse,
they live in the West Valley with their 4 horses, 3 dogs, and 2
cats. She has a daughter Devin, born in August 2004. She
likes to do endurance and competitive trail rides in her spare
time. She also likes traveling, camping , photography and
reading. Dr. Hulse will be adopting a baby boy from
Vietnam in 2008.

Alana Hendrix,
DVM
Dr. Hendrix joined
our practice in 2004 as an intern and became an associate in 2005.
She graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in
Saskatchewan, Canada in 2004. She is married to her husband Derek.
She is an active member of the AAEP, AVMA and AZVMA. In 2007, Dr
Hendrix completed her training in equine acupuncture. She is now
performing acupuncture in conjunction with her Western medicine.
Her veterinary interests include equine reproduction and
performance horse medicine. Dr. Hendrix successfully completed
the equine acupuncture course at the Chi Institute in Reddick,
Florida in August 2007. She is currently using her Eastern
acupuncture diagnostics and treatment in conjunction with modern
Western medicine. We have had very good feedback in horses in all
disciplines... cutting horses, roping horses, dressage,
reproduction, etc. She is currently taking new patients for
acupuncture exams and treatment.
Her personal interests are
showing hunters and jumpers, camping and fishing. She owns a
German Shepherd named
Nash.

Dr. Christina
"Chris" Osborne is our intern for 2007-2008. She graduated from the
Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan,
Canada in 2005. Dr. Osborne previously worked for 2 years in
Strathmore, Alberta, Canada in a mixed animal practice. Dr. Osborne
joined our practice in June 2007 to specialize in equine medicine.
Her primary veterinary interests include equine reproduction, sport
horse medicine, dentistry and internal medicine. Dr. Osborne
grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada which you will realize when you
hear her accent (Eh?!). She obtained her Bachelor Degree in
Agriculture in undergrad at the University of Alberta. Her
personal interests include trail riding, soccer, photography,
hiking, camping, and travel.
